IPC India Member Webinar

  Industry importance:

The electronic contract manufacturing sector in India will see enormous growth in next 4-5 years and well placed to service this market with the enhanced role of EMS in electronics manufacturing. EMS is the key link between components and finished equipment. India has witnessed unprecedented growth in electronics manufacturing in the past five years on account of strong policy initiatives by the Government of India. Industry & Government is promoting global industry standards, skilling of newcomers and re-skilling/capacity buidling of existing professionals in the electronics industry. Maintaining quality & standard in electronics assembly is a critical component in many types of electronic devices specially used for Automotive, Defense, Medical, Aerospace, ICT, consumer technology, telecommunication, power, railways, etc.

  Background:

IPC has recently revised two leading standards for the electronics assembly industry. These two documents can be used together for the manufacture of electronic assemblies.

IPC J-STD-001H, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies is recognized worldwide as the sole industry-consensus standard for soldering processes and materials. Updated with participants from 27 countries providing input and expertise, the IPC-J-STD-001H standard brings the latest criteria to the industry including guidance on the use of x-ray to inspect through-hole solder conditions that are not visible by any other means. IPC-J-STD-001H is a must-have for those in the electronics industry with an interest in the process and acceptance criteria for electrical and electronic assemblies.

IPC-A-610H, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, is a post-assembly acceptance standard used to ensure electronic assemblies meet acceptance requirements for the electronics industry. Participants from 29 countries provided their input and expertise to bring this document to the electronics industry. This is a must-have for inspectors, operators and others with an interest in the acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies.

IPC India Webinars on IPC-A-610H Redline & IPC J-STD-001 H Redline document will highlight the changes from G to H revision and comparison of the two documents.
